Position Summary
The Estimator position is a hands-on, full-time position with day-to-day duties that include preparing accurate estimates for landscape projects by gathering information and analyzing important metrics. The Estimator is responsible for analyzing new construction documents, preparing takeoffs from designs, and preparing bids according to the specifications required. This role maintains project efficiency and ensures customer satisfaction.
Salary: $55,000 - $80,000 annually
Essential Duties and Major Responsibilities
- Estimates cost associated with completing the design and contract of anticipated projects.
- Prepares the estimate/proposal by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information from Project Bid Sheet.
- Provides take-offs and written proposals while maintaining documents with revisions/updates.
- Review job costing reports and adjusts estimates and kits accordingly
- Review and update the catalog to represent current pricing
- Use software for data analysis, forecasting and budgeting.
- Read, interpret, and accurately compute architectural specifications, site plans, floor plans, architectural drawings, interpret diagrams & schematics, scaling plans, measure approximate length, heights, and width along with calculating square and linear footages.
- Completes final cost estimate, adding all labor, equipment, material data, pricing documentation, overhead, and profit margins, and produces a final estimate/proposal submission for review and approval of chief estimator and district management.
- Assist with snow removal and planning process in during winter months.
- Assist with other duties as assigned.
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Experience
- 2 + year of landscape/Horticulture experience required.
- 2+ years of estimator experience preferred.
Specialized Skills
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Knowledge of mathematics.
- Excellent problem solving and innovation skills.
- Process oriented to provide complete bids with minimal exclusions, oversight, and mistakes.
- Auto CAD, Aspire
- Able and willing to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
Supervisory Expectations:
This position has no supervisor duties.
